I have gone in several times in a pickup, BUT 4WD IS BETTER. There is a School bus that runs daily out here. The roads are maintained by the Forest Service and are gravel/dirt. In some of the area’s you can see the San Francisco Peaks, or enjoy fishing in nearby Chevelon Canyon. Horse back riding under the star’s is a favorite pastime. You can join the Deer Run and Jackson's Hole watercooperatives operates wells in the area, or you can drill a well on your own property. Properties are assessable from Winslow or Heber. You can obtain a permit from the Forest Service to gather dead wood to heat your cabin, or use a generator. You can also get a permit to cut your Christmas Tree!
